Telecom Corridor apartment project in Richardson will bring 456 rental units

Irving-based developer JPI – one of North Texas’ biggest apartment builders – is kicking off construction on a new project in Richardson’s Telecom Corridor.

The Jefferson Woods community will have 456 apartments on Glenville Drive just east of U.S. Highway 75.

The three-story rental complex is scheduled to open in summer 2018 and is next to the Spring Creek nature preserve and park.

It’s just south of the $1.5 billion CityLine development, which has almost 10,000 workers for companies including State Farm Insurance and Raytheon.

“Jefferson Woods will help meet the needs of the metroplex’s most dynamic up-and-coming submarkets,” Matt Brendel, senior vice president and development partner at JPI, said in a statement. “With its unique location adjacent to the Spring Creek Nature Area and a block from the CityLine development as well as the extensive amenities and upgraded interiors, the community will attract any resident who desires a true live, work and play environment.”

The new apartment project is between two DART commuter rail stations and will have access to the pedestrian trail running along the east side of U.S. 75.

Last year JPI was the top apartment builder in North Texas, with more than 3,100 units under construction in the D-FW area.

The developer has projects under way in Las Colinas, near Dallas’ Love Field and in Farmers Branch.
